It's important for new business owners to keep costs low. Avoid the temptation to try to grow faster then you really can. Invest in technology, a web site will always be able to communicate with more people then you can speak to, so it's important that you website be a good representation of you and your business. On that note, it's very important to focus on branding, or establishing a brand if you don't have one as yet, and secondly, getting brand exposure, by marketing your new business. If you do those two things well, you should be able to be more efficient by putting your money where you'll get the best results.
